The Ritz London
Mayfair, London, England
Experience timeless luxury in this grand hotel lobby featuring majestic arches, gold accents, a sparkling chandelier, and exquisite floral arrangements. Perfect for high-end gatherings, weddings, or as an impressive entrance to your property. Enjoy the blend of classic architecture and contemporary elegance in every detail.
Old-fashioned in the dreamiest way, this London grand dame has it all: sweeping views of Green Park, Michelin-starred dining and impeccable service. Opened in 1906 by Swiss hotelier César Ritz, more than a century later, this quintessentially British hotel is as spritzy and incomparable as ever, a place where you still find hats, straight backs and a cloche or two.
Location

In a prime position on Piccadilly, you can see across leafy Green Park towards Buckingham Palace, and you’re a swinging door away from the Royal Academy of Arts, West End theatres and prime shopping spots. The genteel Jermyn Street, with its independent boutiques offering everything from badger-hair brushes to traditional brogues and English-made shirts, is just around the corner, as is the world-famous royal grocer, Fortnum & Mason.
Style and Character

This is the sort of place where a good spritz of Elnett is de rigueur. Twirling through the doors transports you to a bygone era, where crystal chandeliers twinkle and piano music tinkles through the squeaky marble lobby from the elegant Long Gallery. There’s a lavish French château-style flair in the air as seen in the Versailles-inspired dining room with its dazzling painted ceiling and marble columns, with Louis XVI furnishings, gold leaf, draped damask and jacquard silk. It’s all washed down with a dose of English sophistication – from the tophat-donning doormen to the sherbet lemon and pink-hued Palm Court, home to the hotel’s legendary afternoon teas.
Service and Facilities

At The Ritz, tradition and theatricality take centre stage. Chambermaids go about their busy jobs in pinnies and white-jacketed bar staff shake up martinis to the hum of cocktailed-up chatter in the Rivoli Bar, while bellhops in white gloves usher luggage trolleys through lifts and windy corridors; you’ll feel as if you’re in a Wes Anderson film. The staff are a true asset to the hotel: charming, intuitive, proud to be there, and their service is slick and flawless.
There is currently no gym and spa as the hotel undergoes a very discreet period of renovation. The art deco-styled Cigar Room is still a hotspot for those looking to sample and buy cigars. If you’re feeling particularly Ritzy, you can book the Rolls-Royce Experience package offering the chance to roll around town in a chauffeur-driven custom-made Rolls-Royce Phantom with complimentary champagne which costs £350 per hour. Guests staying in one of the signature suites receive a complimentary one-way London airport transfer.

Rooms

The Ritz London’s 111 rooms, including 25 opulent suites (the latter of which all come with butlers) are elegant and timeless, lavishly decorated in soft pastels, with gleaming antique furnishings, ornate chandeliers, and silk-draped windows, with a touch of 24-carat-gold leaf. Yes, it all sounds quite grand but not in an ostentatious kind of way. If you’re really blowing the budget, the sprawling Trafalgar Suite, whose jewel-like palette plays homage to the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar, feels like staying in your own mini palace, with panoramic views from the sitting room of double deckers gliding through bustling Piccadilly below – quite the spectacle at nighttime. You might recognise it from the silver screen – the suite famously appeared in the 1999 film, Notting Hill.
Food and Drink

Afternoon Tea at The Ritz is the stuff of legend – served in the gilded Palm Court, where mirrors, marble, and soft piano music set the scene for a feast of crustless sandwiches, warm scones, and hand-crafted pastries. The tea selection is vast with over 20 varieties available and the experience is nothing short of magical (from £79 for adults and £57 for children; there are five sittings between 11:30am and 7:30pm).
But the real star is the two-Michelin-starred Ritz Restaurant. Beneath dazzling chandeliers and towering columns, staff glide between tables, presenting British dishes with theatrical flair. Executive Chef John Williams MBE crafts impeccable classics – silky langoustine with a rich Parmesan custard, a tender and exquisite beef Wellington and the restaurant’s signature pudding, Crêpes Suzette flambéed tableside in a blaze of Grand Marnier. The five and seven-course tasting menus offer a chance to enjoy a variety of seasonal specials with wine chosen by the sommelier.
After dinner, the Rivoli Bar beckons with its art deco glamour, offering an impressive selection of vintage champagnes and signature cocktails, including the decadent Ritz 110, a blend of gold-infused champagne, Grand Marnier, and peach liqueur.
